Hi! I’m Sarah Badat-Richardson. I am a wife, a homeschooling mother, a martial artist, and a business owner.
My husband, Burton Richardson, is a leader in teaching realistic self-defense to people all around the world. We married in 1998 and waited 12 years before we decided to have a child. To say that becoming parents rocked our world is an understatement. The first year was grueling. I’ve experienced first hand that motherhood is both magical and brutal. After all sleep deprivation is a form of torture.
Although each mother-child pair is unique, the challenges and hopes that mothering present are universal.
I’ve learned there are many similarities between being a fighter and being a mother.
Neither role comes easy.
Both require commitment, dedication and hard work.
Both can leave you bruised up, physically and emotionally.
Both teach you a lot and if you embrace the lessons, both will make you a better person.
My goal is to post 1/week and share what I’ve learned, what I am learning and what I have yet to learn as a mother, a wife, a woman.
Thank you for stopping by. Aloha!
